Duncan Welch
European Trade Mark Attorney and Co-Principal
Duncan has been specialising in Trade Marks and Designs for over 19 years. He has particular expertise in the protection of personality rights and character merchandising and also advises on all aspects of Trade Mark and Design protection and registration including clearance searches, oppositions, cancellations, revocations, assignments, infringements and passing off and on copyright law. His clients have included leading names in sectors ranging from retailing to the drinks industry and sports personalities.
He started his career in his specialisation in the Trade Mark Department of ICI. He was a Director of the firm J. E. Evans-Jackson & Co part of the Novagraaf group for 9 years before joining forces with Manish Joshi to form Joshi & Welch LLP in 2006. He sits on the Council of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and is also a tutor to students taking the Institute's advanced exams.
